Skiiers, Snowboarders... Eat your hearts out!!

There has never been a better time to be a skiier/snowboarder than right now in Utah. Every die hard knows that spring skiing is the best and last night (APRIL 15th for goodness sakes) We got over a foot in the VALLEY!!! This Morning there is fresh powder everywhere and the sun is Shining brightly! (It's supposed to be 65 on Sat and 70 on Sunday. Go figure!!

Awesome Chicken Enchiladas (Too good not to share)

You can modify the spices in this recipe if you like it more or less spicey.

2lbs Boneless Skinless Chicken cut up into 1/2 inc cubes
1/8 C Canola Oil
1T Chili Powder
1/2 T Cumin
1/2 onion chopped up
Cook in large pan on stove
Add 1 8oz can green chilis, stir and remove from heat (use 1/2 can if you like it less spicey)

In seperate pan prepare 1 package Spanish rice (I used rice a roni)
When finished cooking, add to chicken mixture

Pour 1/2 of a 28oz can red enchilada sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 pan (may have enough chicken mixture to do about 1 1/2 pans.)

Spoon Chicken Mixture into burrito size tortillas, roll up and place in pan.

Pour rest of Enchilada Sauce evenly over top of rolled up enchiladas
Sprinkle evenly with 2-3 cups cheese.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes (lower temperature if you need to cook longer to accomadate a certain dinner time.) For softer enchiladas cook covered, for a crispier top, cook uncovered.

Holy Estrogen!

My biggest fears and Greatest joys are happening, and there's nothing I can do about it. Last night I spoke to my Dad on the phone and he told me that out of the three girls in my family, I was by far the most emotional. So call it what you want... karma... payback... retribution... but here it is: two more girls! I am so excited, but feeling sorry for Wyatt. I remember well the pubescent years where my poor brother would just lock himself in his room, or just not be home to avoid his 3 sisters, and I only hope that Wyatt will fare better. At least my brother was the oldest, he got out as early as he could. Wyatt is stuck right in the middle!! I really in all honesty think that he will love his sisters to death. He is so social, loving and happy that I think and hope he is great friends with them and I know they will mutually benefit from their siblings bringing home friends of the opposite sex when they are at the dating age. Who knows, maybe the twins will bring home a cute girl for Wyatt someday (after he's back from a mission.) We'll see. But for now, I am grateful to be blessed with such a wonderful wonderful family and excited for us to grow. Oh and who can be dissapointed at the thought of dressing TWO little baby girls in matching outfits! I have PLENTY of girl clothes, but I have a feeling that's not going to stop me from shopping.
I should mention before I end this long post, that they are fraternal, not identical, which I am very happy about. I think they will benefit from having their own identity since they will be sharing everything else pretty much!

Two months of Blogging, all in one afternoon.

I just recently had my 2008 blog printed into a book (I also did this for 2007) and decided I better do a better job of "Family Journaling" on my blog so that I have all the highlights from this year in one place! It's soooo much funner and easier for me to blog than journal. (Although evidence from the last few months would suggest I don't do either very well...)

So here we go: I"ll start from Yesterday and go back to the beginning of January (because that's the way the pictures downloaded and I'm too lazy to change them.)

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. It gave us a taste of Spring and we were outside for most of the day, even in t-shirts for a while! We started a new tradition, and even though this isn't a very good picture indicating the tradition, I just like that the fire pit was going and there is still snow on the ground. Our tradition is to have a "Christmas Tree burning and Hot dog roast" the first warm Saturday of the season. That's right, while everyone else is taking down christmas lights, we're burning the tree and roasting weenies on it's remains!


Wyatt Loves his cousin Blake and only gets to see him once of twice a month. We found them in grandma's room watching a movie on Ryan's Ipod, just chilling out together. It was so cute watching them stare at the tiny screen wondering how they could even see anything.


This year for Valentines Day, the whole Mehler clan took me out for dinner. Yep, that's right, Mike was in the Phillipines so Hollie was Dateless and Ryan and Ashlie just didn't have any hot dates lined up, so Mark and I went out with his siblings for V-Day. It was perfect!! (Except for the 1 1/2 hour wait at the Outback, even though we showed up at 4:30 to get a table.


This is a series of Pictures taken during our trip to Seattle. The kids had a blast making sugar cookies with Grandma (although I think grandma wondered what she had been thinking suggesting that activity towards the end). They also loved feedin the seagulls french fries at Ivars and riding the ferry boat out to Bainbridge Island.







My Sister in law Jen made this darling "Surf's Up" fondant cake for her daughter Dottie's 3rd birthday. I cannot believe how talented she is. I want to try to do one, but I'm afraid it won't even look half as cute.


These last 3 photos were taken at the American Fork pool. We tried to go to the Lehi Legacy Center, but fortunately we showed up just after someone had pooped in the pool (fortunately because we weren't in the water when it happened.) So we went on over to AF. The kids had a blast swimming and playing together. The nice thing about going swimming in the winter is that it's nowhere near as crowded as in the summer.

I get so sick of winter!

Alright, I know it's a few months away, but I am already anticipating Summer and so sick and tired of the cold. I have nothing to post about really because all we do every day is stay inside and try not to drive each other insane!! My kids go through the same cycle every day... Play, Play too rough, someone gets hurt, crying begins, mom gets mad- repeat cycle. (and by "play" I mean they run around and chase each other screaming half the time while I am trying not to lose my cool. We definately need to turn the salon into a play room.)

I have no pictures to post, no funny stories to tell... life is just boring. Aren't you glad you checked out my blog today so you could be bored too?!!

A little Update on us.

I've been really really bad about blogging lately, also, I was horrible about taking pictures this Christmas, so I don't have any to post right now. You see I haven't been feeling too well and the weeks leading up to Christmas were the worst!

I'm starting to feel better now.... Yes I am expecting. Lots of you have heard by now, but for those of you who haven't, I am having twins! I can't believe it, but we are really excited. Anyway, at least it explains why I've been feeling so much worse and so much more tired than I did with the first two.

So sometime this summer, hopefully the end of July, beginning of August, we will go from a family of 4 to a family of 6! And then we will be done. For sure.

Anyway, I'll try to be better about posting, and keeping you all up to date on our lives. I'm sure not much will be going on since we are entering the most boring 3 months of the year. Cold, dreary and very boring usually. Hopefully this year we'll make some fun happen.

As most of you know, Obama made a public announcement that he is going to sign the Freedom Of Choice Act, which will allow all types of abortions including partial birth abortions, also allowing babies who are born alive due to botched up late term abortions, to be set aside without any medical care or nourishment and left to die (most of these babies have no medical problems and most of the ones that do, have things like clef pallets, club feet, things that are correctable, still they are murdered in the most cruel and inhuman way. They feel everything that is happening to them. There is more mercy for dogs that are put to sleep) This Bill also will make it mandatory for doctors and nurses to perform this murderous act even if they do not want to do so. This act also allows under age teens to have an abortion, even partial birth abortions, without parental consent.

Catholic Bishops have pleaded with Obama not to go ahead with this horrible murder of innocent babies. They have also told Obama that if he persists in signing this Bill which would require even Catholic Hospitals to perform these acts of murder, they will have no choice but to close all Catholic Hospitals. Please let us join with these courageous Bishops who will go to any length to change Obama's mind. Please take a minute to sign this statement and let our voices be heard.

This is a great, informative website. You can click on the video of Obama's speech to the Planned Parenthood group where he promised that the first thing he would do if elected President would be to sign the Freedom Of Choice Act. He isn't even in the White House yet and he made a statement last night that he will go forward with his plans to sign this outrageous bill. He still can change his mind because the Bill cannot be signed until he is actually the President.

Please let your family and friends know about this Bill and ask them to also sign this petition. Even those who voted for Obama would not want him to sign this Bill. Most important, please pray for Obama's true conversion to Christianity. If he doesn't change his atheistic ways, may God have mercy on our country for the sake of the millions who would never agree with this Bill if they fully understood all that it encompasses. Christmas tree, poor old Christmas tree.

We decided to go get our tree on Thursday night. I can't believe how outrageously priced trees are!! Since this year has been pretty rough on our family, we decided to cut costs and get a smaller tree. It works because from outside the house, it looks like a full tree. Putting it up on that table helped alot. It's small, but we know that Christmas isn't really about the tree, it's about so much more.

Just kidding people! We got a real tree too, although it's not much better. It was Mark's year to pick our tree, I usually go for the full and lush FULL size trees, but Mark insists on this wretched excuse for a christmas tree every year! I cannot stand the twigs (no offense if you like those kinds of trees, just not my favorite) So anyway, we went to pick out a tree at the lot, Mark insisted on this hideousness and Maddison was in tears because she wanted "a real christmas tree" she said she "hated dad's kind" so I let her choose the first tree, a miniature of what she really wanted. I told Mark he was mean because the kids should get to choose, but he was being stubborn since it was "his year" to pick. Poor Maddi. Oh well, next year we'll get a real tree.

Finally a computer that works... (I hope, keep your fingers crossed!)

So most of you know we had to buy a new computer back in Sept, well it has never ever worked right and finally after major drama this morning, I took it back to Costco (who took it right back after 2 months btw... I love Costco, I will always buy everything there!) and got yet another laptop which I love even more than the one I took back, and my blogger issues have been resolved just by switching!!! Hallelujiah!!

So what I'm saying is it is no longer a major trial for me just to log into blogger and I hope to soon be a postaholic again.
