It may not get better until September.

Busy. That's how I would describe the last month and that's my excuse for everything lately.

I do have some fun things to share though...

Last week was the Lehi Roundup week. Lehi has lots of different events and activities going on all week long such as the Monday night picnic in the park; cowboy poetry; a big Bazaar in the park and other fun activities. One of the activities we went to was last Tuesday. My sister in law entered her little girl in the Lehi Baby Contest. I have thought about entering this with my own kids every year since we have lived here, but just haven't ever gotten around to it. So my sister in law came over to borrow one of Maddi's old dresses and we decided to watch her little girl in the contest. When we got there I found out that Wyatt was still young enough (by about a month, the cutoff is age 3) to enter the contest. I wasn't going to do it, but my in laws talked me into it. I had to borrow money from my other sister in law just to pay the entry fee. Anyway, I am glad that I did enter him because he got up in front of those judges, sang a couple of songs, and talked to them for a minute and ended up winning 2nd place! It's always nice as a mom when you have it reaffirmed that your kids are cute - since we all think our own kids are the cutest!

On a side note... my niece was ripped off. She was by far the cutest little girl in her age group! She was super tired though and not feeling up to showing her cute self to the judges. Plus the kids in her age group that did win were all decked out in elaborate costumes. We had no clue that people went to extreme lengths for their kids to win. Next year though, I think my sister in law should enter her again and deck her out in something cute. She is seriously the most darling 2 year old little girl I know!

So, that was Tuesday (after the kid's dentist appointments). Wednesday and Thursday I worked. (This is something new that some of you may not know. I am working 2 days a week this summer as a temp for my sister Lisa. That's right... she's my boss! It's a ton of fun and I am having a blast doing it, but it's only temporary. Probably until the middle of August.) Then on Friday I watched my friend Cherises two... YES TWO sets of twins for about 3 hours until my sister came and took over for me so that Mark and I could take the kids to the Lehi Rodeo. We go every year and it is so much fun. One of the highlights of our summer. Then on Saturday morning we got up, took the kids to the Lehi Parade and then drove up to Sandy to meet Mark's brother and sisters and their families and took all the kids to Lagoon until about 10pm!

So it has been busy, and it's not letting up until school starts! But I guess it's better than being bored all summer. We might as well enjoy it right!!

I can't believe I'm sharing these!

So my friend Jen posted a really horrible ID photo from one of her old work badges on her blog and I started thinking about how all of my soccer pictures growing up were horrible photos. I had these bangs that were half of my hair and they were always all over the place. No wonder I became a hairstylist... I NEEDED HELP! So I found those photos and scanned them in to share with you all, then I found a few more "scrapbook pages" (obviously this was before I moved to Utah and learned how to scrapbook it is waaaayyyy amature scrapbooking people, I was in high school for goodness sakes!) I had to share these. Have a few laughs on me. Click on the photos to enlarge them for a better view.

All 3 photos on the bottom are from 3 different years of soccer pics (My team's name was "STORM". How can someone have3 consecutive years of aweful hair... obviously it wasn't a fluke, I was just completely clueless! Those years playing soccer were someo of the best though. I wish I was still in good enough shape to play. I better work on that.

Okay I added this one to show my baby photo- the next one is from my senior year.

Do you like the Halloween costume? It reminds me of Lindsay Lohan in mean girls when she shows up to the Halloween party as the dead bride. (bottom center of the page)

More lovely soccer pictures. BTW, in these lovely yellow and red uniforms my team's name was "The Golden Reds" I think all the other teams made fun of us because we had a somewhat gay name, but we were good... they weren't laughing when we kicked their butts. Also, if you notice on the sign, this photo was taken in 1989, the same year Mark graduated from high school.

What they did when you made the drill team... yes I had to go to school like this.

Maddison is 5!!!!!

On Maddison's actual birthday we had a little family party at our house with her cousins, aunts & Uncles and some of our good friends. We had lots of fun eating pizza and cupcakes and playing tennis after.

This morning we had planned a pony party for Maddison and it was a ton of fun, but unfortunately Maddi woke up at about 3 in the morning last night with a fever and just feeling aweful. We gave her Motrin this morning so she felt good enough to get through most of the party. Toward the end she was feeling pretty aweful and couldn't even finish opening up her presents. On the way home in the car she told Mark and I that she liked her party but that she didn't have any fun because she was so sick. SAD! I felt so bad for her!

Seattle

We had a ton of fun on our trip to Seattle. My parents house looks totally different than it did when I was growing up, but for those of you who want to picture where I am when I am gone, this is it!

We do a lot of the same things when we go to Seattle, but this was something new we did. There is a train that takes you through Snoqualmie and North Bend out to Snoqualmie falls, it was tons of fun! This is Maddi, Wyatt and their cousin Dottie enjoying the train ride!

We had a birthday party for Maddi while we were there, it was one of 3 parties she had this year!

My parents house has a park behind it that is a lakefront park. The kids love going to play in the sand and on the playground at the park. If we go in the summer we can go swim and play at the little beach right there. I grew up playing and swimming at that beach park so it's always fun to go over and remember all the fun times I had there as a kid.

One of the activities we do every time we go to Seattle is go to the Zoo.

Our favorite animals at the Zoo are the bears. There is a big open area that looks like you are just standing in the forest staring at these bears and at the bottom of their habitat there is a pool of water that a river runs to where the bears swim and play, catch fish etc. There is a glass wall that seperates you from the bears so you can literally stand face to face with a bear with only a couple of inches between you. This is the closest we have gotten and we've gone to see the bears at least four or five times.

Maddison's Preschool Graduation

On May 20th, Maddison graduated from pre-school. Her teacher (grandma Pat) has a big swimming party in her backyard with a magic show and little singing performance from the kids. I can't believe Maddi is going into Kindergarten this fall. It all goes by way too fast.

This is a picture of Maddison's favorite boy, Carter. He is darling! We have been hearing about Carter since January and this is the first time I've met him. Throughout the whole Magic show Maddison would either have her arm around Carter or would be sitting right next to him with her head leaning on his shoulder. It was so cute and innocent. Carter just acted like it was no big deal and was so indulging of Maddison. I met his dad later on and told him "if this is the kind of boy Maddison goes for her whole life she'll be great!"

Mark made it to the party to cheer Maddi on. She is a total Daddy's girl and I'm sure it made her day that he was there.
