Barf!

Well no pictures for you all this week. I don't think you want to see the pictures from the events of last week. Maddison, Wyatt and I all had the stomach flu. We were out of commission pretty much from Wednesday through Sunday and layed really low yesterday. The only place we ventured was the Laundromat to clean vomit off of bedding and bathroom rugs. (You're welcome for the visual!!) We were really sad that we missed going to Boise Idaho for my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. I have heard that it was a great time and will always be sad that I missed it.

Not much going on for this week. I am working a couple of days, my bosses brother passed away from a heart attack so I am covering for him in the office. Also I will mention that I got a new cell phone last week. If you call my old number there is a voice mail with my new number. I will eventually be taking the old number back (when the contract ends on that one) so don't erase it, just add the new number in as an addition number in your phone books.

Monticello

We got back from Monticello last night and it was such a blast. We drove down on Thursday and made it just in time for Mark, his brother Ryan and his brother in law Mike to play 18 holes of golf at the Monticello golf course. They had a great time seeing deer, pheasants, snakes, rabbits and other wildlife all over the golf course as they played their round. Meanwhile Hollie and I checked into the hotel and took the kids swimming.

Friday morning we drove into Moab and went river rafting on the Colorado river. It was such a blast. The river was pretty calm and the rapids were never too much that they scared the kids or could have tipped us over. It was overcast so we lucked out. The day before we were told it made it up to 110 degrees, but I don't think it went much over 100 the day we went and the sun wasn't blazing down on us so we stayed comfortable. We went with a large group consisting of 5 big rafts and about 10-15 "duckies" (inflatable kayaks.) We had water fights all day long and enjoyed jumping in and out of the water. We really had fun and plan on doing it again next year.

Saturday we went to the Pioneer Day parade where the kids loaded up on candy. Again the temperatures were so nice, it was cloudy and about 80 degrees. A huge relief from the constant 100degree temperatures back home. They have a park filled with booths vending food, jewelry, and toys so we went over there after the parade and let the kids play and eat for a couple of hours. The boys played in their annual basketball tournament and beat the team with the girl, but lost their next 2 games. The teams they lost to went on to play each other for the championship so that made our guys feel a little better I think. They were all sore and sunburned from paddling on the river the day before. We went to dinner at the town Pizza parlor thtat night then went swimming at the hotel pool.

Sunday morning we took our time packing and enjoyed the drive home stopping at "Hole in the Rock" arch and making lots of pit stops on the way home. We really enjoyed our trip this year and are already planning for next year.

Wyatt is 2!!

Wyatt turned 2 today! I wish I could say we did something fun for him, but unfortunately, he doesn't really know it's his birthday so it's kind of a boring day. When it was Maddi's 2nd birthday, Erin was 8 months pregnant with Wyatt and we did more for her than we are doing for Wyatt.

We head out of town to Monticello Utah tomorrow for our annual 24th of July trip. We are going swimming tomorrow afternoon at the city pool in Moab, than river rafting on the Colorado River on Friday. Saturday Monticello has a parade and a little festival going on. The boys (Mark, Ryan, Mike and Mark's uncle Richi) play in a basketball tournament at the high school, then there is a big fireworks show on Saturday night. We'll probably squeeze in some fishing in the mountains and some deer spotting as well. I'll report back and post photos on Monday. Hopefully Mark comes back injury free; he is somewhat infamous for getting injured on vacation.

Welcome to our Blog!

Welcome! This is our first attempt at blogging (and when I say we, I mean Erin.) I thought this would be a fun way for family and friends to keep up on our life and great way for me to do some way overdue keeping in touch. I hope you are all doing well.

Wyatt turns 2 tomorrow and he is definately playing the part. He is a cute kid, but is definately figuring out how to be a bit feisty and bossy. Mark just convinced me to buzz his hair recently. I gave in and regretted it instantly. I decided I didn't spend 2000 hours in beauty school just to buzz my kids head. So this will be the last time he sports this haircut! He's still cute anyway.

Maddi just turned 4 last month. She is finally getting out of the sassy stage and is into a very grown up and independent phase of life. She is a ton of fun. I can actually converse with her and she gets excited about helping me with some of the activities I love. She is also starting to understand the joys of shopping which makes my errands a lot more enjoyable.

Mark is busy with work as always, he golfs every other Saturday and tries to fish when he can. He is good to help me when he can but is really gone a lot.

I as usual do whatever I can to stay busy. Between cutting hair at home, my insurance job, cub scouts and the kids, it isn't too difficult. I thrive on my crazy life though and wouldn't want it any other way.
