I got tagged over a week ago and am finally posting this:
What I was doing 10 years ago:
Going to school at BYU, rather hanging out with friends all night, sleeping in late into the day missing classes (thus the lack of a degree) and having the best, absolute BEST time of my life! Falling in the love for the first time, making some of the best friends that I have to this day, and learning about who I really was.
What I was doing 5 years ago:
Freaking out because Mark had been laid off from his job and we were expecting our first child in May... she didn't make it here til June. Enjoying every minute of working at the Brickhouse Retreat!
What I was doing 1 year ago:
Same thing I'm doing now, being a partial single mom (I know it's not the same as really being a single mom and I have to send lots of love out to all the real single moms doing it out there) trying to be a patient mom, trying to lose weight, working for Allstate and doing hair.
What I was doing yesterday:
Going to Church, cleaning up my house a little, finishing Mark's laundry so he could pack for St. George, taking a short nap.
I enjoy:
Reading, the outdoors, time to myself.
5 TV shows I love:
American Idol, Survivor Man, The Office, Ace of Cakes, any home improvement show.
5 things I hate:
People cutting me off on the freeway just because they think they need to be driving in front of the minivan, Asking repeatedly for my kids or husband to do something, MESSES!!!! (messes counts for three things, I hate them that bad!

Mark, Maddi, Wyatt, The Gospel and Atonement of Jesus Christ, my Family and Friends.

The key getting what you want from your husband... His Mother!
So after literally whining for more than a year to my husband about our kitchen table, which was his grandmothers, I finally got a new one... Thanks to his mom.
It all started last Saturday when I decided going furniture shopping with my sister in law Hollie would be a great idea. You see normally I don't furniture shop, for a good reason too: I can't ever buy the furniture, so why do it to myself? Anyway, I spent the last week in a very mild depression over all of the old hand me downs that furnish my home... (don't get me wrong, I am VERY grateful to have been given these pieces, otherwise my house would be bare. I just finally got to the point where I was ready to choose something to fit my style and taste;) my mother in law had a conversation with Mark and they devised a plan. On Friday night we were up at my MIL's house and all on whim (so it seemed) decided to go to "the mall". I was a bit surprised that Mark was willing to go, he hates the mall. It should have been my first clue. He drove, and started out going the wrong direction, I of course always have a solution, so I just simply suggested going to the other mall that was in the direction he was going. On the way to the mall, he pulled into the RC Willey parking lot and suggested we all go in and look for a minute. I was confused but shrugged it off because I knew my bro and sis in law were in the process of shopping for an entertainment center. We meandered our way through the store and began looking at the tables. He pointed one out and I said, "I'll show you the one I like, I already know exactly which table I want." We went and looked at it and to my complete and utter shock, Mark flagged the sales guy down and said "We want to buy this table." I really thought he was just teasing me! It was a great birthday surprise. (A few weeks early)

My Purse... This may be too revealing.
First of all, just let me tag anyone of you readers who hasn't had to do this yet. If you are going to see the contents of my purse, I get to see yours. Also, There's no way I can reveal all of this without an explanation... so enjoy!
Okay so the first picture is my purse when it's full, so you can see that it doesn't overflow, it all fits very neatly.
The second picture is of the contents of my purse. I'll start at the top and list them: My purse, check book, camera, wallet, planner, weight watchers dining out companion, key chain with all those dumb little discount/membership cards on them, keys, tweezers (cuz everyone knows you see all the little hairs in the car that you miss when plucking your eyebrows in the bathroom mirror) chapstick, gum (always has to be Orbitz Sweet Mint), 3 pens (because I HATE not having a pen when I need one,) tampon, tissues, cell phone (one personal, one for the bail bond company,) temple schedule.
Another proof photo that it all fits very nicely!
Can't wait to see if anyone fits more into their purse than me!

I go through phases where I take a lot of pictures, and then don't take any for months. Today I took a few photos. Here they are.
Maddi went to her friend Aubrey's birthday party and got her hair and makeup done like a princess, then she put Lisa's sunglasses on at lunch - what a glamour queen.

My sister Lisa turned 21 today... okay, not really. She's 27 but we just like to say 21 because it makes her feel better. Don't feel bad Lisa, Next year I'll be out of my 20's.

Why didn't I think of this?
I seriously wish that I would come up with some awesome EASY idea like this, throw it all into a book and bring in a pretty extra income for our family! I think I need to start taking time out of each day for my imagination to return to it's pre-children state, when I used to dream up stuff like this.
Anyway, This is an awesome cookbook which was featured in my favorite magazine, Family Fun. After reading the article I went straight to Amazon and it's on the way as we speak. After I recieve it, I'll post a review, but I'm guessing, I'm gonna love it! The whole idea behind it is to puree veggies and add them into recipes your kids will eat, "disguising" the nutritional and ending mealtime battles over veggies a.k.a forcefeeding. It gives you great purees to make and suggestions on what foods to add them to, and specific recipes including pancakes, spaghetti and even brownies! Whoo hoo to healthier kids.
BTW, another tip for all you mommy's out there: I just bought a new blender combination food processor last week, after much online review reading I decided on a Cuisinart. They normally retail for around $120.00, but me being the bargain shopper that I am found it at KOHLS for $70 including Tax. KOHLS is by far the best place to buy appliances if you are looking for name brand quality deals. Wait for their sales (which are pretty much every weekend) and sign up online to recieve their ads in the mail (they usually have a coupon for an additional 15%-30% off your total purchase). It is also one of those stores where it pays to have an in store credit card. Many of their deals and discounts only work when you charge the items. I usually just pay it off the next day, you can pay on their website, there are no fees to process an online payment and it's fast and easy. Just thought I'd share.

One of my favorite things...
This is really random I know, but I just love this stuff so I had to tell you all about it; There is this ingenious product which both greases and flours your cake pan at the same time, it's called "Cake Release." All you do is squirt the stuff in your cake pan and spread it around with a paper towel ~ GENIUS! It's not found in the baking Isle where it ought to be, it's found in the special cake decorating section of your local Walmart or craft store (such as Roberts.) It is my new favorite short cut in the kitchen. Say goodbye to greasing & flouring, waxpapering etc. You'll never have to do it again!

Out of the loop
I have been out of the blogger loop lately. It seems like if I let a few days go by, I have hours of blogging to catch up on, not only posting but reading too! I have added lots of people to my "Blogger Buddies" list. It's the craze right now I guess. Do you like the changes?
Can you tell that I am the type of person who rearranges all my furniture about twice a year? I do like change. I'm glad I can get some of it out by rearraning my blog... don't worry, I already have my new "spring" backgrounds picked out for after Valentines Day is over, so watch for those changes. I have finally figured out this HTML stuff to the point now where if any of you newer bloggers want some help, just send me a message and I can email you some instructions on how to change things up a bit.

Another Post About Snow...
I know I have complained a lot about the snow and cold weather here in Utah lately, but this morning when I woke up and saw all the new snow, I couldn't help but wear a smile on my face. It's too beautiful outside too be upset about it. Tomorrow Maddi and I have plans to try to finish our igloo.
This was our backyard after the "snow storm" we had at the end of last week.
This is our back yard today, after the real storm came. I love the buried car!
Maddi couldn't believe that the snow was taller than her in some areas!
This is a 12" ruler, so I'm guessing where she's standing it's 2 Feet deep. I think we got a little over a foot of fresh snow this morning... I hope Tyler is reading this... just to rub it in a little and give you another nudge toward moving to Utah.
