Sometimes I'm a bad mom.

I think I purposely did not blog about this back in October. Why would I blog about something so embarrasing?

You see Wyatt told me he wanted to be a ninja for Halloween. Our budget is tight these days, but it was especially tight at the end of October, and I was CRAZY busy with work. So I gave it a halfway attempt. I bought him some black sweat pants, a cool ninja sword backpack thingy and some red satin fabric to SEW him a sash to tie around his waste.  Then I  thought of a black hoodie I had at home he could wear.   I thought it was a good enough costume... so what if it was semi homemade. I grew up on home made costumes and they were the bomb.com.

Well, Halloween morning rolled around and the sash was still not sewn.  Oh well, I rolled it into a long strip and hid the threads that were hanging loosely from the frayed edges as best I could.  I grabbed the black hoodie I had in mind but when it was 15 size too big, tried to come up with a back up plan.  Wyatt seemed content with just tying the sash around the waste of his white undershirt T-Shirt and throwing a zip up hoodie over the top.  If he was okay with it I was okay with it.

Imagine my horror when I showed up at school for the Halloween parade and saw my child casually parading down the hall in this ensemble...

No red sash. No hoodie. No ninja backback. No laces tied on shoes.

He looked like a homeless person.

Seriously.

Every other kid in that school was decked out. Face paint, makeup, amazing hair styling. Their mothers must have all gone to beauty school or something...
oh, wait. :/

Next year, I plan to redeem myself.  He is going to have the best costume of all time. Ever. In the history of the universe!

Just to clarify that I'm not always a bad mom... Here are the girls costumes.
